Our Story

Hi, friends! I’m Lisa, and with the support of my parents (our amazing business owners) and our fantastic team, I manage this little corner of the internet.
One of my earliest memories is the day my mom came home with a simple gift for my dad. It was the 1990s, and the Beanie Baby craze was in full swing. My mom spotted Bubbles the Fish at the store, and since yellow was my dad’s favorite color, she decided to buy it for him.
Now, there’s something important you should know about my dad, Will. He sees everything through the lens of an entrepreneur, and this gift was no exception. Raised working in the family’s tool and die business, he eventually took the company over from my Grandpa. With his business background and the growing hype around Beanie Babies, a new business idea was born.
Never ones to sit idle when inspiration struck, my parents got to work. In the 90s, TY was only interested in selling Beanies to boutique stores and even discouraged selling their products online – how times have changed! (This was just one of many savvy business moves that helped keep the Beanie craze alive. You can read more about that here.) Despite these restrictions, my parents didn’t let anything deter them, and little by little, they built the business.
I was about 6 years old when I got my first job—putting Beanie Babies into bags of a dozen. I earned 10 cents per bag, and of course, I spent every penny on more Beanie Babies 😂. I’m not sure how much my work actually helped. There’s a good chance they could have done it themselves in less time, but it taught me the value of both money and hard work.
Many of my earliest memories revolve around Beanie Babies. Goochy the Jellyfish was the first Beanie I bought with my own money, Bones the Dog was my sister Sarah's favorite, and for some reason, Flip the Cat always reminds me of my older sister Rachael. Every time we sell one of those Beanies, I smile—not just at the memories, but also because I’m excited for the memories you'll create with them.
As time went on, the business expanded into more collectible items and toys. We now carry a whole array of Ty products, stunning porcelain figurines from brands like Lladro, Hummel, and Precious Moments, elegant crystal from Baccarat, Waterford, Swarovski and Lalique, plus a variety of toys from Disney and Barbie. For about twenty years, we sold exclusively on Amazon and eBay. When COVID hit in 2020, my parents had grown tired of the headaches that come with third-party platforms, and I was laid off from my job.
When my parents asked me to join the business and help build their own store, I was hesitant. But in the end, I decided to take the leap, and I’m so glad I did. I love being part of the family business. I’m lucky to work day in and day out alongside my parents, and hearing from our Fam’ about how our products are bringing joy to their homes is truly the best part of my job!

Hi friend, I'm Lisa, and with the help of my parents (aka our lovely business owners) and our team, I manage this corner of the internet.
One of my earliest memories is the day that my mom came home with a simple gift for my dad. This was the 1990’s and the height of the Beanie Baby craze. My mom saw Bubbles the Fish at the store, and since it features my dad’s favorite color, yellow, she decided to buy if for him.
Now there’s something important you need to know about Will, my dad. He sees everything through the eye of an entrepreneur, and this gift was no exception. He was raised working in the family tool & die business and eventually took the company over from my Grandpa. Between his business background, and the growing hype around Beanie Babies, a new business idea was sparked.
Never ones to sit idly on an idea, my parents got to work. Back in the 90’s TY was only interested in selling Beanies to those with boutique stores. They also discouraged the sale of their products online – oh how times have changed! (This was actually just one of many brilliant business moves which kept the Beanie hysteria alive. You can read more about that here.) My parents didn’t let these restrictions deter them and slowly but surely, they built the business.
I was about 6 years old when I got my first job, putting Beanie Babies into bags of a dozen. I earned 10 cents per bag, and of course I spent every cent buying Beanie Babies 😂 I’m not so sure the work I accomplished was particularly helpful.
